Multiple National Champion Ginette Jordan added one more notch on her gun belt in 2008 by capturing the 2008 F Street Prepared Ladies National Championship. Now a resident of North Carolina by way of New England Ginette is a dual member of the Central Carolina Region SCCA and the New England Region SCCA. She drove the family 1993 Honda Civic on Hoosier tires.

RR: Is this your first attendance at Nationals?
GJ: No. I have been to 27 National Championships with the first starting in 1982.

RR: Is this your first National Championship?
GJ: No this was my ninth. All of my Championships have been in Hondas. I won D Street Prepared Ladies in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988 in a Honda CRX. I won C Street Prepared Ladies in 1990 and 1991 in a Honda Civic. D Street Prepared Ladies again in 1996 and 1996 with a Honda CRX and F Street Prepared Ladies again with a Honda CRX.

RR: What was your favorite memory of the competition?
GJ: Coming through the finish line on my last run knowing it was a good run but not knowing how the competition had done until I heard the announcer and seeing my husband’s face and all my friends cheering. Being able to call my children and let them know I had won again after so many years.

RR: What do you think was your key to success?
GJ: I started doing this in 1977 when I started dating my husband. We have always run many events during each season. Over the years we have traveled a lot to get to quality events. Always pushing to be better and to seek out tough competition. My husband has tried real hard to keep the cars in excellent competitive condition. I started racing in New England Region and did so for the first 22 years and they were a very progressive region.

RR: Who has most influenced you?
GJ: My husband Jinx has influenced me the most. His competitiveness has rubbed off on me.

RR: Who inspires you?
GJ: I have to say Jinx again. He always encourages me and is always supportive.

RR: Do you have any special pre-race routine, or any superstitions you follow?
GJ: I try to memorize the course so that I can drive it in my head as I am waiting to run. I like to walk the course a couple of times with Jinx and then I like to walk it by myself.

RR: Do you have any driving aids or tools you use to help you?
GJ: I keep a card with a few key points to remember stuck to my dash that I read before I run.

RR: What do you think you do differently than your competition?
GJ: I’m there to win but I also am there to have fun.

RR: Have you attended any driving school?
GJ: I have attended the Evolution School. I plan to attend SoloPro Driving School that Jinx and Tim Aro started this year.

RR: Describe your driving style.
GJ: I try to be smooth and keep the car under control and not be a one run wonder. I tend to improve after each run.

RR: What was your first –and favorite autocross car?
GJ: The first car I autocrossed was a Fiat X-19. My favorite car was the 1984 Honda CRX that I won my first and six of my championships in.

RR: If you could change one Solo rule – either for your specific class or in general — what would it be?
GJ: No response.

RR: Who would you like to thank for your success?
GJ: I would like to thank Jinx and Fred White my friend and co-driver for many years. They are always working to make the car better. Even when it’s good they keep on trying to improve it.
