Since most of us who are attending the 2009 Solo National Championship have not been to Lincoln, NE before we thought it would be useful to provide some information to make your visit to Lincoln more enjoyable. Hopefully the information here will give you a head start on having an enjoyable experience.

While my name is listed as the author I can assure you that the content herein has come from Ed George (FSP 96) and Velma Boreen (CSPL 87) who did the research and provided me with all the information for this piece! Liquor Sales: Monday-Saturday 6am-1am

Getting Around:

Lincoln’s major arterials are laid out in a simple grid. Numbered streets run North to South, Lettered Streets run East to West. O Street is the N/S dividing line. Many downtown streets are one way.

Speed limits are 25mph unless otherwise posted. Right turn on red is permitted unless posted. Right turn on LEFT are permitted from a one-way to a one-way street. Seat belts are required for all front seat occupants and anyone under the age of 16. U-turns permitted and arterial intersections unless otherwise posted.

Parking:

On-street meters are $.50, length varies from 10min to 10hrs. Meters are not monitored on Sundays or after 6pm.

Nebraska State Patrol offers road conditions by dialing 511.
