Co-habituating with a certain autocross school co-owner Diane Johnson wheeled here way to yet another National Championship behind the wheel of the family 2002 Corvette ZO-6 on Hoosier tires in A Street Prepared Ladies. Diane calls Glen Allen, Virginia home and is oddly enough a member of the New York Region SCCA.

DJ: No, this was my tenth Nationals.
RR: Is this your first National Championship?
DJ: No, I have two other National Championships in addition to this one. My first came at the wheel of MY Camaro Z-28 in 2003 and I won in 2007 driving the same 2002 Corvette ZO-6 I won in this year.
RR:Â What was your favorite memory of the competition?
DJ: The Evo Party and the inflatable bed!
RR: What do you think was your key to success?
DJ: Seat time and the Evolution Performance Driving School, as well as support from family and friends.

RR: Who has most influenced you?
DJ: My father.
RR: Who inspires you?
DJ: My husband.
RR: Do you have any special pre-race routine, or any superstitions you follow?
DJ: The late Chris Linberg taught me that a purple thong is the key to success.
RR: Do you have any driving aids or tools you use to help you?
DJ: I use a Chase cam and MaxQdata…
RR: What do you think you do differently than your competition?
DJ: I just try to enjoy myself and have a good time. But, I will say using Chase Cams have been quite useful in the last few years.
RR: Have you attended any driving school?
DJ: Evolution Performance Driving School, is there any other?
RR: Describe your driving style.
DJ: High pucker factor.

RR: What was your first –and favorite autocross car?
DJ: The first was a Mustang GT convertible. The favorite, our 2002 Corvette Z0-6.
RR: If you could change one Solo rule – either for your specific class or in general — what would it be?
DJ: All wheel drive cars should have their own class.
RR: Who would you like to thank for your success?
DJ: All of my friends that I’ve met throughout the years, and of course the Evolution Performance Driving School.
